Web service
A Web service is a service offered through the Internet. Different systems can then use the data or the functionality of that service (read: application). This makes it possible for a (information) system to “call” different functionalities and / or data from external systems (systems that are programmed differently). I-Rent uses this service for example to give access to others to check the real-time availability and to allow booking of other systems.
