CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet and is a technique to determine the design (positioning and layout) of a website. The CSS file contains all information (style declarations) about the design of the website and can be added to an HTML or XML document. In short: HTML and XML contain the information of a website, CSS gives the looks to the website.
