The use of tmps

Tmp stands for template, these are programmed by I-Rent and are like profile parameters. You can use tmps to personalize the pages even more and they help you with the work on your website.

You can use tmps in the construction of sentences, in texts but also titles and headings. For example:

tmp_AccProfileHL tmp_GeoFocus.
tmp_USP online with tmp_BrandHL.

Can give you the result:

Holiday home rentals with pool on the Costa Blanca, Spain.
Book your holiday home online with Soliday Rentals.

In this example:
tmp_AccProfileHL = Holiday home rentals with pool
tmp_GeoFocus = on the Costa Blanca, Spain
tmp_USP = Book your holiday home
tmp_BrandHL = Soliday Rentals

Apart from the fact that tmps personalize the pages, they come in very handy when you want to change a profile parameter, for example: If you wanted to change in the example above your accommodation profile “Holiday home rentals with pool” into “Rental of luxery holiday homes” everywhere on your website where you used this tmp, the text will automatically change by changing the tmp.

List of tmps you can use:

  • tmp_AccTypeHL
The highlighted accommodation type in singular, the type of accommodation your company focusus on most. E.g. Holiday home, Apartment, Home or apartment, Villa with pool.
  • tmp_AccsTypesHL

  • tmp_GeoFocus
The geographic focus of your company, where do you let? E.g. on the Costa Blanca, in Javea and Denia or in Javea, Costa Blanca, Spain. Remember that this tmp always needs to start with a preposition (on, in etc.) and you do not make this too long, about 20 caracters.
  • tmp_BrandHL
    Your company name
  • tmp_USP
Unique selling proposition in the example this is the phrase: Book your holiday

How to work with tmps

  1. First you need to define your tmps.
    • Go to the homepage of your website and click on Toggle Translations.
    • Pluses appear at each word or part of the website that can be edited.
    • Click on the + behind “All rights reserved” at the very bottom of you website.
    • A window will open asking your for your name and password (these are the same as your login for the I-Rent back office system).
    • The text editor opens.
    • The first field is called control, here you can find all the tmps mentioned above. If not please contact us.
    • Choose each tmp one by one: Literal_tmp_ and fill in the text in the field below, then click on save. Do not change items that do not start with Literal_tmp_.
  2. Then you can use the following tmps in texts, metas, titles and sentences:
    • tmp_AccTypeHL
    • tmp_AccsTypesHL
    • tmp_AccProfileHL
    • tmp_GeoFocus
    • tmp_BrandHL
    • tmp_USP

Be carefull to write them exactly as in the controls.

  3. Check on the page if the tmp returns what your were aiming for.

Note: A tmp is a value you can call for on a page where this information is presented, for example tmp_AccoType, the selected accommodation, only works when you are on a page where accommodations are selected, it won´t return any value when you use it on the homepage or the confirm option page for example.
